International success of Turkish Designers
Starting with the negative effects of global economical crisis which influenced the design world, the year 2009 also witnessed the proud international success of Turkish designers and ETMK members.
Defne Koz, received Red Dot Awards: Product Design 2009 award for the Dondola seating unit which she has designed for Megaron Company.
Hulusi Neci’s “pen remote”, which was designed for Airfel and received Design Turkey Turquality Design Award, also received IF and Red Dot Awards.
Vestel was found appropriate to receive 2008 award with Slim and Thin LCD TV design from the Good Design Awards organized by Chicago Museum of Architecture and Design . Also RC 3900 remote control designed by Itır Şenyüz Tümerdem and RC 3910 remote control designed by Can Uçkan Yüksel from Vestel Industrial Design Team received Red Dot Awards.
Awards received by Demirden design: Demirden Design Twig wooden stool designed by Hasan Demir Obuz for Ilio brand received the first IF Gold award in Turkey, the happycell glass series designed by Nil Deniz received IF award, black diamond seating unit which has Design Turkey Superior Design Award designed by Sule Koç also received Red Dot Award, forest glass series designed by Hasan demir Obuz received Red Dot Award.
4U Armchair, which was designed for Nurus by Ece Selamğlu Yalım and Oğuz Yalım from Artful received Red Dot Award.
Orientile Collection designed by Can Yalman from Can Yalman Design for Çanakkale Seramik and Kalebodur received Red Dot Award.
The Project called Aqua Trap designed by Hakan Gursu, Sozum Dogan, Anil Ercan and Alper Karadoganer from Designnobis received the first prize at “Sustainable Living / Environmental Preservation - Rural Sustainable Design” category of International Design Awards (IDA).
From Designnobis; Volitan designed by Hakan Gursu and Sozum Dogan received the first prize at transportation category; Aqua Trap designed by Hakan Gursu, Sozum Dogan, Alper Karadoganer and Anil Ercan received second prize at other products category; Fire Knight designed by Hakan Gursu, Sozum Dogan and Muzaffer Kocer received mension at conceptual category, of Green Dot Awards.
